We’ve had a very exciting day one of the 2011 Thanksgiving Clinic! Campers are thrilled to be back in action at IGC on this sunny and crisp November day. Beginner through advanced groups practiced on each event in 45-minutes intervals while Svetlana Boguinskaia and Blaine Wilson roamed the gyms giving athletes their expert gymnastics advice. Chicken nuggets, fries, cheese and broccoli soup was served for lunch with yummy cookies for dessert! The salad bar was even open for business! Tomorrow will be another full day of gymnastics until the time for check-out arrives at 4:45 p.m.
As our Thanksgiving Clinic campers wrapped up a delicious and nutritious dinner of spaghetti, meatballs, vegetables and garlic bread, they made their way to an evening activity station. From 7:30 to 9 p.m. campers got to choose from several different activities: karaoke in the Bear’s Den, games and a snack in the canteen, a movie in the dance gym and t-shirt coloring in the cafeteria. Everyone had a great time singing their favorite songs, hanging out with friends and dancing the night away in the Bear’s Den with their counselors. Next, it was over to the canteen where campers enjoyed different classic games like ping-pong, Uno and Trivial Pursuit. Coloring festive Thanksgiving t-shirts with friends in the cafeteria was by far the favorite activity of the night! Finally, it was to the dance gym where campers sat with friends and staff members through the evening flick, The Goonies.
It was definitely a great Thanksgiving Clinic to remember, and it’s not over yet! After the movie, campers will be heading back to their campers to get some shut eye. Another day of gymnastics fun is up ahead!
We have a lot of videos and photos of day one at the 2011 Thanksgiving Clinic. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates and photo albums.
