FAQs for Connecticut Gymnasts & Families

Is International Gymnastics Camp a common choice for Connecticut gymnasts?

Absolutely. Our proximity to Connecticut makes International Gymnastics Camp one of the most popular overnight gymnastics destinations for families across the state. Each summer, we welcome campers from Fairfield County to the Quiet Corner and the Litchfield Hills. It’s very common for CT gymnasts to reconnect with teammates from their home clubs or meet athletes they’ll see later throughout their competition season.

How long is the trip from Connecticut to Stroudsburg?

For many families, it strikes the ideal balance: far enough from home to feel immersive and distraction-free, yet close enough for a comfortable drive.

  • Stamford / Greenwich: ~2 hours
  • Bridgeport / New Haven: ~2.5 hours
  • Hartford / Waterbury: ~2.75–3 hours
  • New London / Mystic: ~3.5 hours via I95 and I80

When should CT gymnasts register to align with school breaks?

Most Connecticut schools finish in mid June, making our late June and early July sessions especially popular for CT families. We also offer August sessions that finish before Labor Day, ensuring your gymnast can enjoy camp without missing school.

Can my gymnast attend with their Connecticut gymnastics club teammates?

Absolutely. Many campers arrive with one or two teammates from their Connecticut gymnastics clubs, and this can be a wonderful way to ease into the overnight experience. If campers are close in age, they may also request to bunk together, which often adds an extra layer of comfort and excitement during their week at International Gymnastics Camp.

What makes training in the Poconos different from training in Connecticut?

Connecticut offers excellent local gymnastics programs, but International Gymnastics Camp provides a premier overnight camp experience that feels like a true summer retreat. Our Pocono Mountains location gives gymnasts a refreshing change of scenery, with expansive natural surroundings, a focused training environment, and a community of athletes from around the US and worldwide.

For many families, it’s the ideal balance: far enough from home to feel immersive and distraction-free, yet close enough for a comfortable and manageable drive. Choosing International Gymnastic Camp means experiencing a true overnight gymnastics camp, something wonderfully different from the outstanding local clinics and programs available in Connecticut.
