Jungle Safari Week at IGC 2017
Jungle Safari Week at IGC has been wild! We have officially made it to the end of Week 11, which means this also marks the end of Summer 2017!
Jungle Safari Week was chalk full of fun from start to finish. One of the major highlights of Week 11 were our awesome IGC Celebrities, Brandon Wynn, Justin Spring, and Tarah Paige. We were so glad they were here with us to wrap up a great summer! Campers loved getting to show the celebrities their gymnastics skills, while learning even more tips and tricks from them. On Thursday night, all three celebrities could be found showing off their own moves at the Camper Dance!
Another highlight of the week was the film crew that was here throughout the week. The crew was onsite shooting a new promotional video for IGC, which campers were thrilled to be a part of. We are excited to launch the video very shortly – keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages for more!
Throughout the week, campers also enjoyed mingling in the canteen with new friends and participating in recreational activities. To fit the theme of the week, campers went on a jungle safari scavenger hunt for animals. IGC Staff Members were posing as animals all over camp. They acted out what animals they were, and campers had to guess the correct animal in order to get points for their cabins.
An added bonus during Week 11 was the solar eclipse on Monday afternoon. With the help of our IGC Counselors and a piece of paper, campers were able to watch the solar eclipse. By positioning the paper in a certain light, the movement of the solar eclipse reflected onto the piece of paper.
In addition, we were very happy to welcome our campers with special needs at IGC this week! They loved getting to experience camp life with our counselors and coaches. From working on their skills in the gyms, to climbing Scary Aerie, to making s’mores by the campfire, they had a wonderful week with us!
These past 11 weeks of camp have been absolutely incredible, but alas, all good things must come to an end. On a positive note, we are already preparing for Summer 2018 and you can enroll here.
Until next summer…
