Photos & Communication

International Gymnastics Camp prides itself on providing each camper with a traditional summer camp experience. As a result, IGC is a device-free campus, free of cell phones, iPads/tablets, laptops/computers, gaming devices/consoles, smartwatches and personal music playing devices. This policy allows our campers to unplug from electronics and plug into real-life relationships with fellow campers, counselors, and coaches. For parents, we provide many different ways to connect with your camper while they are at gymnastics sleep-away camp. Read below to learn more!

Photos

Throughout each week of camp, the International Gymnastics Camp Photography Staff take many photos to post online for parents and campers to view. Photographs can be viewed and purchased through our SmugMug photo site. A password to view the photos will be provided at Check-In and via the welcome e-mail, you receive prior to camp. Printed photos can be purchased as well.

TIP: While we take many photos of life at camp, it is not always possible to ensure that all campers have their photo taken and posted each day. Some campers are so busy and having such a good time that they are impossible to catch, and some campers can be a little camera shy. Be sure to check back the next day!

Camper Communication

CampStamps is an email system that is accessed through your My IGC account. This system is one that allows parents to purchase electronic stamps to write letters back and forth with their camper while at gymnastics sleep away camp. Once stamps are purchased through the Email section of your My IGC account you can write a letter to your camper that will then be printed by our office staff once a day to be distributed to campers. Parents can select for an eLetter reply sheet to be printed along with their letter for the camper to be able to write back.

Download & Print Times: CampStamps are downloaded and printed Mondays-Fridays only. The last download for CampStamps is Friday at 9am.

Please Note: It is not unusual for a camper to reply a day or two later – campers have so many activities available that they may not stop long enough to write a letter: Also, “E Letters” from campers may be reviewed by our staff to ensure campers are having a positive experience and to make sure any concerns are addressed with parents while the camper is still at camp.

Helpful Tip: When writing e-letters focus on camp and how excited you are to hear about the sleep away camp, the gymnastics, and the new friends they have made. Refrain from expressing anxious feelings about time away from home, even with the best of intentions (“I sure hope the food there is decent“, “I hope you’ll be okay“, or “Have a wonderful time. I hope I remember to feed your dog.“). Giving children something to worry about will increase the likelihood of nervousness or homesickness.

Traditional Mail

International Gymnastics Camp campers love receiving care packages and even the old-fashioned traditional letter!

IGC offers specially designed Camp Care Packages filled with IGC souvenirs. These can be pre-ordered online or ordered at Check-In. Counselors hand deliver the packages to campers (Pre-order care packages to ensure you receive your desired choice as these are popular items).

For traditional mail and packages, allow ample time for mail to arrive at camp. Be sure to check with your local post office for average shipping times. Please address all correspondence as follows:

Camper’s Name Week(s) & Cabin #International Gymnastics Camp 100 Gymnastics Way Stroudsburg, PA 18360

If you are sending a care package from home, please do not include any food items, candy, or gum. Out of an abundance of caution for other campers’ medical needs and food allergies, and to discourage visits from forest animals, we do not allow food or snacks in the cabins.

TIP: When writing letters or including notes with care packages, focus on camp and how excited you are to hear about the camp, the gymnastics, and the new friends they have made.

Internet

Campers do not have access to the internet or social media at gymnastics sleep away camp. Our IGC campers are too busy working out, making new friends, and having fun!
